Transocean KG1 Flare Boom Turntable Design

Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling awards Freeman & Curiel Engineers the contract for Design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Fabrication of a foundation box mounted flare boom base turntable. The KG1 flare boom base is pinned to a turntable.  The turntable is mounted on a foundation box that measures approximately 8 ft. square and 4’-6” tall.  The turntable and boom will have a 150 degree range of motion. Clevises are mounted on the turntable to provide attachment points for the boom. The turntable is also equipped with two ring gears for rotation.  Two drives each operate a pinion gear that are fixed to the foundation box.  Each pinion engages a ring gear to power the rotation of the turntable/boom assembly.
